I designed For Real, Not Rumours a news app tailored for Gen Z, to filter out fake news, misinformation, and information overload based on their preferences. I began by researching Gen Z's behaviour around news and digital media to understand what engages them and what doesn't. For Real, Not Rumours helps users quickly browse credible news through text or topic-based searches. The final concept uses a simple, scrollable timeline interface paired with Gen Z slang for relatability.
I started by doing research on the given topic and target audience. This includes understanding the who, what, and how questions. I gained some insights that helped me create a question to be completed.
Based on my research and knowledge, I was able to create some personas and further define and understand the target audience. Which served as a guide for my design process.
Creating a general idea for this design development for the project's outcome.
To make sure the app was simple to use and had a clear flow, user testing was done on the prototype. I created an outcome to solve my question.
